Lines of communication

In this activity, learners look at the roles and interaction of design and development personnel. Learners use role play to explore the range of communication that take place between the design and construction teams.
You can develop this activity in a number of ways; there are some ideas in the guidance notes.
Learning objectives
When they have completed the activity learners should be able to:
- identify the key roles and responsibilities of those involved in the design and development process
- specify their contribution to sustainable development
- use appropriate style, tone and vocabulary to ask questions and make statements
- understand the lines of communication between those involved in the construction design process
- identify the personal, learning and thinking skills they are using.
